JHRTS News & Announcements

by Brian Toombs, JHRTS Co-President

JHRTS closed out 2009 with a bang! Our annual Holiday Party was held at the exclusive Hollywood nightclub MyHouse this year and surpassed all previous Holiday Parties in terms of attendance, sponsorships and total money raised.  We were excited to include nearly all major networks, studios, agencies and production companies as part of our sponsorship group and welcomed almost 800 young industry professionals from every part of the business into the party. Most gratifying for our organization was the substantial amount of money we raised for Feeding America, a national charity aimed at ending hunger in America.

While totals are still being calculated, it is clear that due to overwhelming generosity of our corporate sponsors, membership and party attendees that JHRTS will be able to make a major financial contribution to Feeding America’s fundraising effort. Planning for the 2009 party began in August and its success is a testament to the hard work, creativity and perseverance of our talented board members.

After taking a much needed break over the holidays and new year, JHRTS recently jumped back into the action with a very stylish mixer held at The Hudson in West Hollywood. Additionally, we are excited to be hosting an intimate roundtable event with Jeff Bader, Head of Programming and Scheduling for ABC on February 9th.

Looking ahead, we have a number of innovative and stimulating events including our second annual Digital Content Gallery, featuring the latest and greatest in digital content. We have a Cable TV Panel and Stand Up Comedy events in our planning pipeline as well, in addition to our always well attended mixers. The spring looks to be an incredible growth period for our group as we continue to fuel creative thought and action while connecting young Hollywood in fun and exciting ways. Here’s to 2010!
