New Corporate Members

HRTS Welcomes new corporate member, CSG Systems, Inc.


CSG Systems, Inc. provides software and services-based solutions that help clients improve commerce by better engaging and transacting with their customers. CSG enables clients to build new offerings, to engage customers on those offerings and to deliver them through effective and profitable customer transactions.

Content Direct, a business unit of CSG, is primarily focused on providing a complete ecosystem for video delivery over an IP Network. Its solution empowers content creators, aggregators and distributors to easily and effectively market, monetize and manage content and customers.

CSG's proven technology is based on 25 years of expertise serving global entertainment companies. They are a profitable public company with offices based in Denver, Chicago, Omaha and Los Angeles with 2008 revenues of $472m. Their solutions are delivered and supported by an experienced and dedicated workforce of more than 2,000 employees in North America.

Their clients typically handle a high volume of recurring transactions and complex customer relationships, operating in extremely competitive markets with nimble competitors and dynamic businesses. CSG clients include some of the market’s largest and most innovative entertainment companies in North America – including Comcast, Dish Network, National Lampoon, SoundMind, Time Warner, as well as global sports networks and mobile device manufacturers.

Kent Steffen, VP & GM

Kent Steffen is Vice President and General Manager of CSG Systems’ Content Direct solution, a digital video content engagement and monetization platform.  Prior to his role with CSG Systems, Kent was the co-founder and CEO of Telution, a software company serving leading communication and cable service providers.  Telution was acquired by CSG Systems in 2006. Kent began his career with Andersen Consulting where he spearheaded enterprise-level programs in the communications, health care and financial services industries, including the creation of Andersen’s FinancialWorks, a component-based solution center for the financial services industry. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois.

Steven Samuels, Senior Vice President, Sales

Steven Samuels is SVP of Sales for CSG Systems’ Content Direct solution, a digital video content engagement and monetization platform.  Steven is responsible and leads all sales efforts and strategies, including partner and channel development for the group.  Prior to CSG Systems, Steven consulted around sales and marketing efforts for technology companies specializing in content delivery network solutions.  Steven also served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Entriq, focusing on the US and Asia-PAC markets.  Previous to Entriq, Steven served as CEO of two information technology companies, MedAxis Corporation and ENCODETHIS/Digital Media Broadcast.  Steven resides in Southern California with his wife and three children.
