Who says size doesn't matter?

A few years back, shortly after being named Executive Director of the HRTS, I was asked a simple question.  How many members did I feel was “the right” number  for  HRTS to grow to?  At the time I looked at the existing membership base, approximately 500, and estimated that we would likely grow to 600 or so in the coming years, as we planned for slow and steady expansion as the industry broadened.  Today, as our membership approaches the 700 mark, (blasting my humble projections out of the water!) and our Corporate Membership ranks have swelled to 43 top companies, with more on the way, I think it’s time to revisit that simple question from years back.

Reginald Hudlin has been President of Entertainment, BET Networks since June 2005.  He serves as chief programming executive in charge of BET's music, entertainment, specials, sports, news and public affairs, film and program acquisitions, home entertainment and programming development units. At the helm of the pre-eminent entertainment brand serving African Americans and consumers of Black culture, Hudlin is currently overseeing the roll-out of 16 new original shows over the course of 2007 – which is BET’s most ambitious programming slate in its history.  Society Views recently posed a few questions to Mr. Hudlin on hit shows, branding, and the future of BET....

Associated Television International Names James Romanovich President,
Worldwide Media and Entertainment
Justin Pierce Tapped as Senior Vice President

Los Angeles (August 22, 2007): Signifying plans to expand its range of programming, Associated Television International (ATI) has named James Romanovich, president, worldwide media and entertainment, and Justin Pierce as senior vice president. The announcement was made by company president David McKenzie.

Also, Joel McGee has been named to the post of Executive Director of Development at GSN. In this position his responsibilities include developing in-house original content as well as managing various projects from outside production companies....
