JHRTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH A SUCCESS!

On Saturday October 13th JHRTS members joined 50 other volunteers from READING TO KIDS at Politi Elementary School in downtown Los Angeles to take part in their “Halloween, Magic and Mysteries” reading club. Volunteers spent the morning doing arts and crafts, singing and of course, reading to kids in classrooms. “It was an enriching
experience. I had a great time and would definitely do this again,” said co-president Mark Ambrose, who read BEHIND THE MASK to a group of second graders. “We had a great turnout for our first event and we look forward to continuing to reach out to our community this year,” said co-president Kathleen McCaffrey, who read LOS GATOS BLACK ON HALLOWEEN to kindergarteners.

JHRTS KICKS OFF 2007-2008 WITH A BANG!
JHRTS officially kicked off the 2007-2008 season with their annual fall social. This year’s event was held at Vice in Hollywood. Roughly 200 members (old and new) turned out on October 24th for what turned out to be a great night of socializing and networking.
