CNB Logo
The HRTS is proud to welcome City National Bank to the ranks of HRTS Corporate Members. One of the leading financial services providers to the entertainment industry, the addition of City National Bank marks corporate member number 37 for this rapidly growing segment of the HRTS membership!  CNB has named the following execs to represent the company as HRTS members:

GoldsmithRussell Goldsmith, Chairman/CEO, City National Bank. Goldsmith leads a financial institution of $15.3 billion in total assets. Additionally, he serves as President and CEO of its publicly held parent company, City National Corporation, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (CYN). He has been a director of both the bank and its parent company since 1978.
Since Goldsmith became CEO in October 1995, City National’s assets and earnings have increased almost five-fold, and its total shareholder return has grown at a compound annual rate of 20 percent. During this period, the bank has made 12 acquisitions. It now has 62 banking offices, including 15 full-service regional centers, in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada and New York City. Additionally, the company and its nine majority-owned investment affiliates manage or administer more than $55 billion in client assets, including $34.6 billion under direct management.
In 2002, in its annual survey of CEO pay and performance, Forbes magazine ranked Goldsmith among the 10 best chief executive officers in America.
From 1986 until its sale in 1994, Goldsmith was chairman of the board and chief executive officer of publicly held Republic Pictures Corporation, a leading global independent entertainment production and distribution company. He also was vice chairman of the San Diego Padres Baseball Club from 1990 to 1994. He previously served as COO and a director of Lorimar, Inc., a public entertainment company, from 1983 through 1985.
Goldsmith began his professional career as an attorney, practicing at Irell & Manella. He later founded his own firm, Sanders, Barnet & Goldsmith, where he specialized in entertainment law.
A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Goldsmith is active in civic affairs. He chairs the Los Angeles Economy & Jobs Committee, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the California Commission for Jobs and Economic Growth and the Civic Alliance. He serves on the board of governors of The Pardee RAND Graduate School, the board of trustees of the Harvard-Westlake School and the board of directors of the Bay Area Council. He was a director of the Los Angeles Branch Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for six years until the end of 2004.

HendersonMartha Henderson, EVP, Manager, Entertainment Division, City National Bank. Henderson, who joined the bank in 1983, has managed the division for the past 17 years. She oversees a team of 130 entertainment banking professionals in Beverly Hills and New York and more than $2.2 billion in loans and $2 billion in deposits.
Under her leadership, City National’s Entertainment Division has been recognized by the entertainment industry as the leader in providing personal financial services to business managers, talent agencies and entertainment law firms.
Ms. Henderson resides in Sherman Oaks, Calif., and is a native of the South Bay area. She serves as a member of City National’s Executive Committee and is a board member of the Los Angeles Free Clinic.

In addition to her membership in the HRTS, Yoel serves on the board of directors of the Women in Film Foundation and is a member of the Paley Center For Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio).
